Well that was a good showing for Big Blue.
South Lafourche rolled to a 44-14 win over South Terrebonne, getting to 3-1 on the season and earning their 3rd-straight win.

5 TAKES AS TARPONS ROLL PAST GATORS
TAKE 1: DEFENSE BOUNCES BACK – It was not a great showing for the Tarpons defense last week, giving up 41 points to Central Lafourche. But Mike Woods and his boys fought like hell tonight and were near flawless. Joao Araujo was all over the field making plays, as was Braxton Pitre, Ress Duet, Tucker Dantin and so, so many others. Atta way, dudes. That was a strong performance.
TAKE 2: CHUBBY T, TO THE HOUSE – Congratulations to Terrance Pitre, the Homecoming King of South Lafourche High School. There is no human being who deserves success more than Terrance, so I couldn’t be happier for he, nor his family. But on Homecoming, of course, it wasn’t just theatrics for Pitre: he performed on the field, too, posting 2 big touchdowns in a big win.
TAKE 3: PICK YOUR POISON – Look man, South Lafourche has some dudes. Last week, Terrance Pitre was dinged up and only had 2 catches. In his absence, Landon Jarvis had 10 catches for 195 yards and Meathead ran wild. This week with Meathead turning an ankle and Jarvis fighting soreness, it was Pitre and Dray Hughes who manned up and got 4 touchdowns. Those guys have some weapons.
TAKE 4: NOT THE GATORS NIGHT – It just wasn’t South Terrebonne’s night. The Gators were 3-0 and were playing good football coming in, but they just couldn’t get anything going tonight after the first drive of the game. South Lafourche deserves a lot of credit for that. But the Gators are better than they played.
TAKE 5: OFFENSIVE LINE – The South Lafourche offensive line is massive, but they are athletic, physical and just dominant. For the third-straight game, the Tarpons’ big boys cheese grated an opponent and broke them down as the game went on. BJ Young knows it. Heck, he said it after the game. It’s easy to call offense when you have that much talent up front.
TAKE 6: LAKIN GETS THE FIRST OF MANY – Lakin Fillinich got the first touchdown of his career late in the game in garbage time. Remember that score. Remember that name. It’s the first of many for a kid who has an awfully bright future.
TAKE 7: HUGE CROWD – Man, there was a massive crowd at Memorial Stadium tonight. That was awesome to see. Those boys appreciate that support. Let’s do it again the next time they play at home.
TAKE 8: DON’T FORGET JOSH MACK – We give so much love to the weapons, but man, South Lafourche has a good quarterback. Josh Mack spread the ball around, made plays with his legs, protected the ball and was flawless on Friday.
TAKE 9: GAME SWUNG BEFORE HALF – The game got away from South Terrebonne before halftime. They were down 17-7 and driving. They had a chance to kick a field goal but opted to go for a touchdown on fourth down and got stopped. That momentum shift changed the entire game in South Lafourche’s favor and it was all Tarpons the rest of the way after that play.
