Covenant Christian Academy will have a new volleyball coach in the 2026 season.

Multiple sources have told By-U Sports this afternoon that coach Craig Hamner has resigned from his position with the team – a decision that players on the team were made aware of this week.

Hamner had a long career in the public schools as both an assistant and then head volleyball coach – most notably at Terrebonne.

He then retired from the public school system and took the job at CCA in 2023. In his time with the Lions, CCA made 3-straight playoff appearances, including last season when the team made the second round of the playoffs in Division V.

It is not yet known if Hamner will seek to coach again in 2026. The local coach is active in the sport year-round both in school volleyball and also on the travel volleyball circuit.
