The coaching carousel locally is spinning.

Ellender girls basketball coach Javine Robinson was introduced today as the coach at Houma Christian School, a move the school announced on social media.

Robinson was the coach at Ellender for the past several seasons after the death of Kenneth Dixon. The Patriots won the State Championship in Robinson’s first year. They made the playoffs in other seasons but have since struggled with roster numbers down.

At Houma Christian, Robinson will take over a young program that has had success. The Warriors had talented players last year but also a young core.

In addition to his coaching duties, Robinson will be defensive coordinator for the football program.
