South Terrebonne standout Peyton Schouest secured his spot at the next level today, signing with John Melvin College.

Schouest, a senior utility player and pitcher spoke to By-U Sports today, saying he couldn’t be happier to be a college athlete, calling the opportunity a blessing.

Schouest said the chance to play beyond high school is a dream come true.

It feels great,” Schouest said. “I mean I’ve worked my whole life to get here and it’s an unreal feeling.”

Schouest had a solid playing career with the Gators. He was a multi-year letter winner for the team who has made an impact at multiple positions for the team.

Schouest said he found John Melvin through a camp and created a relationship with the program which led to an offer and his spot at the next level. He said he looks forward to the chance to compete close to home.

Before enrolling, Schouest said he plans to continue to sharpen his skills. He said he will play summer baseball and plans to work as hard as he possibly can to be the best player that he can be when he is formally a college student.

Schouest said that he wants to thank all of the Gators nation for their love and support over the years, saying that he will forever be fond of his time with the program.

Schouest said he wants to thank the Gators coaches and all of his teammates, as well as the school’s fans for their love and support of him but also for their love and support of the program.

“My career as a Gator was amazing,” he said. “I learned so much over the years and made so many memories that will forever be a special part of my life.”
