Central Catholic kept rolling through the Division V bracket Thursday night in Morgan City. The fifth-seeded Eagles swept No. 21 Vermilion Catholic 3-0 in the regional round of the LHSAA state volleyball playoffs.

Coming off a first-round sweep of Family Christian earlier in the week, Central Catholic controlled the match from the jump and never let the visitors settle in. The Eagles have looked sharp in the postseason so far, winning both playoff matches in straight sets. Vermilion Catholic’s season ends in the regional round.

The win sends Central Catholic into a quarterfinal matchup with Ascension Catholic, with a trip to the Cajundome in Lafayette for the state tournament (Nov. 12-14) on the line. By-U Sports will follow the Eagles as they push deeper into the Division V field.
