The Nicholls State University football team has been active on the recruiting trail, picking up a pair of commitments for the Class of 2025 this past week.

Neville tight end Thomas Campbell and Catholic High School of Baton Rouge receiver Amari Clayton both gave their verbal pledges to coach Tim Rebowe and his staff this past week – giving the Colonels some big playmaking pieces in their early recruiting efforts.

Clayton is a 6-foot, 1-inch, 172-pound wide receiver for Catholic – one of the top programs in the state. Clayton is a skilled playmaker in a pass-happy Catholic offense that throws the ball freely out of their spread attack.

He said he chose the Colonels because of the love Rebowe and his staff showed him. He said he also felt at home in Thibodaux.

For Campbell, he’s a versatile weapon who can be a tight end/H-Back or even a fullback at the next level. He does a little bit of it all at Neville for a team that’s an annual, year-in and year-out contender. He is a 6-foot, 2-inch, 235-pound prospect. The Colonels were the first team to offer him a scholarship and he said he committed to Nicholls to show loyalty to Coach Rebowe and his staff for believing in him.
