Nicholls State University’s women’s basketball team got a big commitment today from a top in-state guard in the 2025 recruiting class.
Wossman State Championship winning point guard Anyra Wilson announced on social media that she has committed to the Colonels, giving Nicholls coach Justin Payne and his staff a huge piece for the future.
Wilson is a 5-foot, 6-inch point guard who had offers from UL-Monroe, Southern Miss and others before choosing Nicholls.
She has been among the top players for a Wossman program that has been dominant in recent years. Recruiting services have her ranked as a Top 6 player in the state.
The Colonels lost players to graduation, but also to the NCAA’s transfer portal. But they also have a talented class coming in – both in prep signees, but also in talented players they are getting commitments from in the portal.
Nicholls will be entering their 3rd season under Payne next winter.
