Morgan City needed all five sets to get its playoff run started. The 15th-seeded Tigers edged No. 18 St. Charles Catholic 3-2 at home Wednesday in the Division III bi-district round.

It was a back-and-forth battle that came down to the wire, with Morgan City finding enough answers late to close out the Comets. St. Charles Catholic finishes 12-19.

The win lifts Morgan City to 16-16 and sends the Tigers into the regional round against Archbishop Hannan. Hannan rolled past Eunice 3-0 in its opener and sits at 28-13, making it one of the toughest remaining seeds in Division III.
