Vandebilt Catholic took care of business at home Wednesday in the Division III bi-district round, sweeping No. 20 Plaquemine 3-0.
The 13th-seeded Terriers controlled the match from the start and punched their ticket to the regional round. Plaquemine finishes 15-10.
Vandebilt entered the matchup at 16-20 but looked locked in for the opener, keeping its season alive in a deep Division III field. The Terriers were one of several Bayou Region teams to open the LHSAA state volleyball tournament this week alongside Berwick, Morgan City and Houma Christian.
The win sets up a regional matchup that will decide whether Vandebilt can push toward the Cajundome state tournament. By-U Sports will have more as the Terriers’ playoff run continues.
